Machine Learning For Anyone

A three-week immersive course at Guilford College

Taught by Prof. Don Smith

The students spent the first half of the course learning how to execute and interpret Python code. They learned how to train neural networks to classify text and images, as well as to use patterns to generate new words or pictures. Then they spent the second half of the course developing and presenting their own machine learning projects.

Here are the final reports for the five groups in the 2020 course:

  1. Can a computer predict who will win a basketball game?
  2. Can a computer identify patients with lung diseases?
  3. Can a computer predict the behavior of Microsoft stocks?
  4. What's in the fridge, honey?
